Dzika Figa in a sea of mercy

On the spur of the moment after the Havasi concert – straight into the most beloved heart of Jesus.

I had to be there.

Not because it is the done thing.
Not because I deserved it.

Only because I know how much I owe to Jesus.

And I know that of myself I am not worthy of his love.

And yet he gives me grace.

To walk the paths of Sister Faustina described in her Diary, to imagine her meetings with Jesus, the moments when Jesus appeared in that tiny, simple little room – it is almost like touching holiness. Oh, how limited my eyes still are today; what a grace it is to have imagination, to be able to picture so easily what is written in the Diary.

A road of mercy, not of perfection

Łagiewniki is not a place for people who have everything in order.

It is a place for those who:

  • try and fall

  • come back and walk away again

  • cannot cope with the hardships and limitations of this life

It is a place for everyone: the good and the bad, the strong and the weak, the fallen and the newly converted, the sick and the healthy, sinners and even greater sinners.

I am the way, and the truth, and the life. Whoever comes to me and believes will never die.

And that is precisely why we turn back to the Lord every day.

„The greater the misery of a soul, the greater its right to My Mercy.”
(Diary)

The wild fig and the cut

A fig from the sycamore, if it is not cut into, rots from within.

Only when it is cut does it release what is poisonous.

And it begins to ripen.

It becomes sweet.

Our lives are cut into as well.

By situations.
By people.
By our own decisions.

By our falls.

And only with time do we begin to understand what suffering is for, and that it is needed in our lives.

And understanding that is a grace too.

A sea of Mercy

Łagiewniki is not so much a road to be ticked off.

It is a sea.

You cannot see the boundary of grace.
You cannot see the end of the waters of mercy.

And suddenly something very simple dawns on you:

anyone can come back, always.

There is no such sin.
There is no such mistake.
There is no such moment in a life,

There is no such person whom Jesus would receive as anything other than a Father receives his Son.

At the gate

I stood at the convent gate.

I tried to stand as Sister Faustina did and to feel as she felt before she was accepted.

The Mother Superior said to Helenka Kowalska: Go and ask the Lord of this house whether he will accept you. He did.

A spark blazed out to the whole world.

The Chaplet of Divine Mercy – a rescue for every soul

There are moments when you do not know how to pray.

You cannot say anything at all.

And then one thing remains:

„For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.”

This prayer requires no strength and no time – five minutes of being washed in love and mercy.

God leads me along his own roads

Today I see that my life began with his intervention – a caesarean section.

My first singing, carols in the chapel of Divine Mercy in Białystok. And it was there, after all, that the late Fr Michał Sopoćko spent his final years. What a wonder!

Later, the Parish of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus in Białystok.

And finally Our Lady of Fatima in Słupno. All roads lead to Jesus.
